From the very first breath we take, our environment creates patterns in our brain that help us navigate through life. This is especially true for adverse events - our brain has a strong evolutionary bias for avoiding pain. This is a great evolutionary trait, but one that is less relevant in the modern era where our past bad experiences limit our future potential.

We rarely retrain our brain to get rid of irrational fears. We hang on to negativity and stop taking risks. This cumulative risk aversions mean we get boxed into default behaviours that do not fulfil our innermost, (many times, unconscious) desires.

As a coach, my goal is always to open doors for these changes to be welcomed into the lives of my clients. Change that is desired, but not always easy. Change that is liberating, but not without challenges.
